Dr. Gayathri Aaditya Eranki is a distinguished professional dedicated to advancing energy efficiency in buildings and sustainable urban planning. Currently serving as a Professor and Head of the Planning Department at the NITTE School of Architecture, Planning, and Design (NITTE SAPD) in Bangalore.
Dr. Gayathri earned PhD from Centre for Sustainable Technologies at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, her research focused on BiPV systems and climate-responsive architecture. She also holds a Master's degree in Urban and Rural Planning from IIT Roorkee, and a Bachelor of Architecture from Andhra University College of Engineering, Visakhapatnam.
At NITTE SAPD, Dr. Gayathri has been instrumental in establishing the Planning Department and launching the Bachelor's (for the first time) and Master's programs in Planning, under Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). She worked as a design manager, Research Associate at the IISc. She has also held significant positions, including Co-founder and Director of the REAL Foundation in Bangalore. Dr. Gayathri's research has significantly advanced the understanding of sustainable building technologies and urban planning. Her scholarly contributions include many publications in prestigious international journals (Scopus indexed), book chapters, patents and presentations in conferences. She is awarded Best Paper Presentation at the International Conference on Social Entrepreneurship in Gandhinagar in July 2022.
Dr. Gayathri is a recipient of the prestigious BHAVAN Fellowship by GOI and has served as a Research Affiliate at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, USA. She has also been recognized for her innovative work and leadership through various awards and invitations to speak at international conferences. Ar. Bindu Malhotra, with 29 years of experience, is working as a Professor and Head of the Architecture Department at Nitte School of Architecture, Planning and Design from June 2019. She is also IIC President and has undergone Innovation Ambassador training (Advanced Level) conducted by MoE's Innovation Cell & AICTE.
She is a double graduate with bachelor's in architecture and bachelor's in law from Punjabi university, Punjab. Her master's in urban design is from BMSSA, Bengaluru. Her major areas of competence and interest are architectural design, urban design, heritage and conservation.
She has remarkable industry and academic experience across the various states of India. She had the privilege of working with Late Ar. Nimish Patel and Ar. Parul Javeri in their ABHIKRAM office, leading her to develop great interest in heritage and conservation projects.
